Intermediate Travel Consultant | Luxury FIT / DMC

A boutique luxury destination management company is looking for an experienced Intermediate Travel Consultant to join the team in a part-time remote or hybrid role.

This is a hands-on consulting role suited to someone who already has solid experience in tailor-made FIT travel planning and can manage bookings independently from an early stage. The role requires someone who is structured, detail-driven, proactive, and confident working in a small, high-standard environment where accuracy and accountability matter.

The successful candidate will take ownership of bookings from enquiry through to confirmation, working closely with international travel advisors and suppliers to deliver seamless, well-considered itineraries across Southern Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Manage FIT enquiries and convert them into detailed, well-structured travel proposals
• Design tailor-made itineraries across Southern Africa
• Handle bookings from quote stage through to confirmation
• Liaise with suppliers and secure availability
• Ensure itineraries, vouchers, invoices, and supporting documentation are accurate and complete
• Manage amendments and client requests efficiently and professionally
• Work within internal systems and processes to maintain consistency and quality
• Communicate clearly and professionally with international travel advisors

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a travel consulting or tour operating role
• Proven experience with tailor-made FIT itineraries is essential
• Strong knowledge of Southern Africa destinations is preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
• Ability to manage multiple bookings at once without losing accuracy
• Fast, clear, and professional written communication
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
• Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment

Working structure

• Fixed Term, approximately 30 hours per week

Compensation

• R15 000 to R18 000 per month, depending on experience
• Performance-based commission structure in place
