Gijima is recruiting 1 x Data Engineer intern for their head office in Midrand on an Internship program.

POSITION INFO:
The criteria is as follows: -

Candidates must have completed a relevant 3-year tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Process Management, Data Engineering, Information Systems)
Candidates must be computer literate and must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, email and Internet
No criminal record.
Be currently unemployed and not participating in any other learnership or internship programme
Candidates must currently be unemployed.
Candidates must not be participating on another learnership or internship program.
Candidates must live in Gauteng (preferably in the Midrand area) – relocation is NOT an option.
Candidates must be under the age of 35 as of 1 August 2025.
Candidates must be a South African Citizen – African, Coloured and Indian.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Focus: Enable the integration, automation, and optimisation of Gijima’s platform services through high-quality data pipelines.

Basic ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) development.
Understanding of APIs, data integration, and automation triggers.
SQL and scripting language knowledge (Python preferred).
Data governance, security, and quality principles (aligned to DAMA).
Assist in building, testing, and maintaining batch and real-time data pipelines.
Integrate enterprise systems into the CoE’s central data warehouse.
Monitor and resolve data quality issues in operational and analytics datasets.
Support platform integration between Business Process Optimisation and Data Analytics functions.
