JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Ensuring the planning and approach to internal audits is informed by the businesses strategy and objectives and attempts to align with business performance thereby contributing to the achievement of strategic objectives.
• Overseeing all aspect of the audit function, monitor procedures for effectiveness and provides recommendation for improvement.
• Establish overall direction and strategic initiatives to ensure transformation of the Group Internal Audit function.
• Keep abreast of the advancements in digital transformation in order to ensure that Group Internal Audit keeps up with changes and improves the way the function operates.
• Establish and maintain a professional internal audit staff complement with enough knowledge, skills and experience to deliver on the internal audit and forensic mandate.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

• BCom Honours in Internal Auditing and/or Accounting is essential.
• CIA / CA(SA) qualification will be advantageous.

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• 10 /12 years senior management experience in internal auditing within a corporate environment required.
• 6/7 years’ experience in finance and internal financial controls is also a requirement.
• 5 years management experience in internal auditing is important.
• Audit experience in IT systems environment, forensic investigations and corporate governance
• Metals or mining sector will be an advantage.
