Overview:
This role is based within an established and reputable Pharmacy in East London.
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- overseeing the receiving, storing, rotating, and displaying of all medicines and medical supplies.
- ensuring the department meets quality, cleanliness, and presentation standards at all times.
- maintaining proper temperature control and handling processes to reduce waste and spoilage.
- implementing seasonal and promotional layouts to maximise sales.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12/ Matric
- 5+ years’ experience in store retail management disciplines including: stock management, cash, reporting, expense control and customer service
- Valid Drivers’ License and own reliable transport
- Computer literate – MS Office
- Willing and able to:
o work retail hours
o work rotating shifts, weekends & public holidays
o use own vehicle to deliver parcels / collect emergency orders from the warehouse when driver not available
Responsibilities:
Stock Control and Inventory Management:
- Manage all aspects of store inventory, including ordering, monitoring, and reporting.
- Conduct and oversee bi-annual stock takes.
- Monitor product quality and remove items not meeting standards
- Minimise shrinkage through effective rotation and waste management strategies.
- Forecast demand and place orders with suppliers to ensure product availability.
- Hold weekly and monthly meetings with the staff to address performance.
- Control shrinkage and ensure correct stock levels.
- Investigate and resolve negative GP values and dormant stock issues.
- Ensure stock in storage locations balances with system record
- Monitor goods in transit and out-of-stock levels daily.
- Planning for staff training needs required to support productivity targets. Sales and Merchandising:
- Ensure the store achieves sales targets across all departments.
- Coordinate and implement promotional activities.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
- Plan and implement store layout to maximise sales and customer experience.
Financial oversight:
- Prepare reports on stock usage, wastage and budget performance
- Monitor inventory costs and reduce unnecessary expenditure
- Support financial audits and take accountability
Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with Pharmacists and Pharmacy staff to align Inventory with patient care needs.
- Train staff with Inventory Systems and Processes.
- Provide input into strategic planning for Pharmacy growth
