Investment Portfolio Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a commercially minded Credit Investment Portfolio Analyst / Manager to support the evaluation, execution, and management of investment opportunities across credit portfolios.

This role requires a technically strong individual who can analyse financial information, build valuation models, assess risk, and translate complex investment data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders and investment committees.

POSITION INFO:
You will work closely with investment, legal, finance, and operational teams, supporting transaction processes, due diligence, portfolio assessments, and strategic investment decisions. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical analysis with commercial decision-making and wants to grow within a sophisticated investment environment. Key Responsibilities: Analyse credit portfolios, distressed assets, and investment opportunities to support investment decisions Perform financial modelling, valuation analysis, scenario modelling, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis Support transaction execution processes including due diligence, deal structuring, and investment assessments Prepare investment papers, valuation reports, and presentations for senior stakeholders and investment committees Evaluate credit risk, NPL exposures, and portfolio performance to identify opportunities and risks Conduct corporate finance and investment analysis to assess potential returns and downside scenarios Support portfolio management activities and provide insights to enhance investment performance Collaborate with investment, legal, finance, and operational teams throughout the investment lifecycle Act as a trusted support function to the Client Solutions Executive, operating as a key 2IC within the team Job Experience and Skills Required: Education: CA(SA), CFA, or BCom Honours degree in Accounting, Finance, Investment, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field Experience: 3-5 years' relevant experience within: Investment analysis Financial modelling Credit \/ NPL portfolio evaluation Corporate finance Investment banking Distressed credit markets or debt sales (advantageous) Skills: Strong technical capability in: DCF valuations Scenario analysis Stress testing Sensitivity modelling Financial analysis Experience preparing investment papers and presenting investment recommendations Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills SQL and Power BI exposure advantageous Strong commercial acumen with the ability to turn analysis into actionable investment decisions Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Ability to defend valuation assumptions and recommendations under stakeholder scrutiny Strong attention to detail and high academic performance preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines Non-Negotiables: Proven experience supporting investment processes, transaction execution, or due diligence Strong valuation and financial modelling experience Ability to analyse complex financial information and provide investment insights Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and investment committees Strong analytical mindset with excellent judgement and commercial awareness For more exciting Finance vacancies, please visit: \/> If you have not had any response in two weeks, please consider the vacancy application unsuccessful.
