Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Procurement Officer to join their Procurement team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the continuous supply of materials by managing purchasing activities, coordinating with suppliers, and supporting inventory control to keep production running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Review production schedules, material requirements, stock levels, and reorder points.
- Raise accurate purchase requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring correct specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery dates.
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations from approved suppliers to ensure the best overall value.
- Monitor supplier lead times and deliveries, following up on delays where required.
- Resolve pricing, quantity, and quality discrepancies with suppliers.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and procurement documentation.
- Support goods receiving processes, including GRN administration and purchase order/invoice matching.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels to support uninterrupted production.

Minimum Requirements

- Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
- Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain qualification will be advantageous.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in purchasing, procurement, or a manufacturing supply chain environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience using ERP, purchasing, or inventory management systems will be advantageous.
- Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong supplier communication and negotiation skills.
- Working knowledge of purchase orders, GRNs, lead times, and inventory control processes.
