About the Position

POSITION INFO:
Key Performance Areas The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving the following key performance areas: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers. Identify, prospect and secure new business through cold calling, canvassing, referrals and industry networking. Achieve assigned sales, growth, market share and profitability targets. Analyse customer requirements and recommend appropriate products, services and solutions. Prepare and submit quotations, tenders, proposals and sales contracts accurately and timeously. Conduct product presentations, demonstrations and provide technical product support. Negotiate pricing, terms and service agreements within approved parameters. Ensure high levels of customer service, prompt resolution of customer queries and effective follow-through on commitments. Identify opportunities to convert competitor accounts and grow market share within the assigned territory. Maintain accurate customer records, sales pipelines, call reports and other required documentation. Manage sales opportunities from initial contact through to order processing, delivery and after-sales support. Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to identify new opportunities. Ensure sound commercial management of sales, including margins, pricing, discounts, invoicing and profitability. Conduct site inspections and ensure all relevant administrative and contractual requirements are completed. Collaborate with internal teams to support customer requirements and achieve business objectives. Prepare and present sales forecasts, activity reports and other reports as required. Continuously identify opportunities to improve sales processes, customer solutions and operational efficiency. Ensure effective territory coverage and maintain strategic relationships with key customers. Minimum Requirements Education and Experience Grade 12 \/ Matric. Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous. Minimum of 5 years' proven sales experience in the materials handling, industrial equipment or related industry. Demonstrated track record of achieving sales and new business development targets. Valid Code 8 driver's licence. Experience with ERP or business management systems advantageous. Knowledge Sales, marketing and business development principles. Customer relationship management and service excellence. Product applications, technical specifications and commercial processes. Pricing, profitability, budgeting and basic financial principles. Market analysis and competitor intelligence. Contract, tender and quotation processes.
