JOB SUMMARY:
National Distribution company focusing on cold storage and ambient FMCG goods, seeks an Assistant Distribution Manager to manage the entire distribution cycle so as to enhance the development of the business, ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

Frozen foods/cold chain experience
Degree/ND in Logistics
Min 5 years in FMCG
WMS and Pastel
A clear understanding of Supply and Cold Chain either through study or experience.
Monitor and manage client relationships and SLAs

Duties include:

Pre-loading, load checking, stock transfers, deviation reporting, pre-loading vehicles, cage allocation, supervising staff, document flow up to debriefing
Ensure daily operations scorecards are accurately updated and distributed on time
Ensure productivity targets are met through lean principles
Advise on freight optimization through effective load planning and delivery stops to ensure 100% Customer satisfaction
No outstanding PODs or Credit notes
Fleet maintenance, repairs, routine checks to vehicles and equipment in accordance with Transport Department policies
Ensure compliance to company SOPs, in particular, to dispatch checking, invoice allocation, dispatch of trucks, debriefing, returns checking, redeliveries and the flow of Traffic on site
Manage the training of drivers and refresher trainings on defensive driving as well as delivery protocols
Control and track pallets supplied to Key Accounts Customers by Delivery Drivers and ensure that reconciliation of pallets is done on a daily basis
Performance supervisors regarding Drivers, Crews, Pickers and Debriefing team
Ensure that Delivery Drivers and Checkers adhere to the Loading process and other warehouse procedures
Manage transport-related costs (casual labor, diesel) and ensure adherence to set budgets.
Contribute to sales and operations planning process and to execute the supply chain plan through optimization
Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements and ensure vehicles are up to legal standards
Manage and control reverse logistics relating to Distribution and Debrief functions.
Control of petty cash and management of all the cash used for the transport department, e.g. toll gates
