KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER

Introduction

An innovative and forward thinking medtech company in Pretoria East is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager with a at least 5 years’ experience within a similar role to join their fast-growing company.

Job Purpose

Develop and nurture relationships with key clients and stakeholders internationally, while ensuring that key clients are satisfied with the services provided in order to ultimately grow the hearX’s revenue through successful key account rollout, optimisation and collaboration.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education (essential):

  • Matric

Minimum education (desirable):

  • Certification in Marketing, Communications or similar
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or similar

Minimum applicable experience (years):

  • 5 years

Required nature of experience:

  • Business development
  • Key client relationship management

Skills and Knowledge (essential):

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Business development and revenue stream expansion.
  • Working with early stage business ventures and achievement of significant revenue growth.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and work with high level executives.

  • Experience in the USA, consumer markets, or retailers would be advantageous.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS, WEIGHTS AND OBJECTIVES

Strategy and Revenue Growth 10%

  • Understand the current roadmap and details of our product suite.
  • Research and keep abreast of current and future technology trends, key players and emerging
  • businesses primarily within the fast moving and evolving hearing solutions, hearing aid and audiological technology industries.
  • Present new ideas for partner and/or KA growth opportunities to MANCO and other stakeholders.
  • Compile business development strategies for international markets.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities to grow established partnerships and unlock additional value to hearX and the end customer.
  • Analyze data and sales statistics and make suggestions to improve business and marketing
  •  
  • Develop strategies and mid-course corrections to ensure meeting of budgeted targets, profitable sales volumes and strategic objectives in assigned KAs.
  • Create and present relevant proposals and solutions to KAs.

 

Relationship Management 40%

  • Identify and establish productive and professional strategic relationships with existing and potential partners and clients, including retailers, e-tailers and platforms.
  • Manage and maintain KA relationships, ensuring ample business development opportunities and revenue generation are created from such relationships.
  • Address and resolve queries and complaints, and ensure that complaints are escalated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the involvement of other team members or departments, including support, service, operations, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and KA expectations.
  • Act as the point of contact with the KA on all matters, including reporting.

 

Stakeholder and Project Optimization 30%

  • Accomplish objectives by establishing plans, budgets and results; reviewing progress and making mid-course corrections to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of KA’s needs and requirements by proactively assessing, clarifying and validating such needs/requirements on an ongoing basis.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure that the timelines associated with rollout and scale-up are met.
  • Ensure that sales targets for the KA are met.
  • Liaise with marketing and the KA to ensure that the marketing campaigns are effective for such KA.
  • Ensure the continued optimisation of rollouts and strategies for KAs, leading these improvements internally to address the customer’s needs.
  • Ensure that communication to the KA contacts are done on time and in accordance with contracts/SLAs.

Documentation and Record Keeping 20%

  • Send internal and external communication post meetings, to ensure action items and outcomes are well communicated.
  • Follow up on action items to ensure that momentum is
  • maintained and that key deliverables are met.
  • Setup and maintain internal KA client books, including capturing relevant client data, strategic plans, products and system information (KA Body Of Knowledge).
  • Develop proposals and documentation aligned with requirements.
  • Set up indicators to track business development (revenue, growth, opportunities etc).
  • Establish a frequent, internal reporting cadence and keep MANCO and EXCO abreast on all developments regarding KAs.
  • Ensure timely documentation and delivery of KA reports as per agreed KPIs, content, and reporting cadence.

Remuneration

Market related (includes a 13th cheque, risk benefit and pension fund contribution)
