SUMMARY:

One of the leading chemicals and specialty company based in Johannesburg is currently looking to hire a Key Account Manager - Animal Health with extensive experience in sales in the Animal Health Industry.

POSITION INFO:

To maintain, drive and promote Animal Health sales in ruminants and swine with selected ruminant and swine customers, consultants and vets.

Required outputs: Functional

  • Develop and manage customer strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Develop and implement customer activity plans to reach agreed sales targets.
  • Monitor and review customer activity plans.
  • Assess gaps, competitor activities and opportunities in the market.
  • Formulate and design customer service level agreements and processes.
  • Develop the best route to market for all customer segments in order to achieve the targeted service levels.
  • Assist with product launches of new products and liaise with technical teams of suppliers for correct transfer of knowledge.
  • Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to the ruminant and swine account, building and maintaining strong long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Oversee customer account management including negotiation of contracts and agreements to maximise profit.
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of technical solutions according to.
  • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics, e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to identify and grow opportunities within territory.
  • Required to conform to all SHEQ rules and regulations as per company policy.
  • To adhere to all internal control policies as directed by Management.
  • To undertake any legal ad hoc tasks for which the incumbent is competent as directed by Management.
Qualifications and expertise required (Must)
  • Grade 12/Matric
  • Degree/Diploma in BSc Agriculture
  • More than 4 years related work experience in sales in an experience must be related to Ruminants (cows, sheep) and Swine (pigs) animal Health Industry.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the Animal Health Industry and solid understanding of premix formulation
  • Computer literate with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
  • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license
  • More than 4 years related work experience in sales in the Animal Health Industry.
  • Possess work experience and technical knowledge in sales to producers, consultants, and veterinarians.
