SUMMARY:

An established manufacturer of animal feed products is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to develop and implement the Account Business plans, in order to maintain sustainable relationships with key customers in the animal feed industry of South Africa

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a BSc Agric in Animal Science
  • At least 4 years related work experience in sales in the Animal Health or Feed Industry will be required
  • Must have a solid understanding of the Animal Health and Feed Industry and a solid understanding of premixes.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office and good communication skills are important
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Developing and managing customer strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Developing and implementing customer activity plans to reach agreed sales targets.
  • Monitoring and reviewing customer activity plans.
  • Assessing gaps, competitor activities and opportunities in the market.
  • Formulating and designing customer service level agreements and processes.
  • Developing the best route to market for all customer segments in order to achieve the targeted service levels.
  • Assisting with product launches of new products and liaise with technical teams of suppliers for correct transfer of knowledge.
  • Operating as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to the ruminant and swine account, building and maintaining strong long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Overseeing customer account management including negotiation of contracts and agreements to maximise profit.
  • Ensuring the timely and successful delivery of technical solutions according to customer requirement.
  • Developing new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas.
  • Forecasting and tracking key account metrics, e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts.
  • Collaborating with the Sales Team to identify and grow opportunities within the territory
  • Ensuring conformance to all SHEQ rules and regulations as per company policy.
  • Adhering to all internal control policies as directed by Management.

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
