Key Accounts Manager

POSITION INFO:
Our client, based in Johannesburg East , is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to join their commercial team. This opportunity is ideal for a driven sales professional with a strong background in account management, business development, and client relationship management within the timber, plywood, board products, forestry, manufacturing, or building materials industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing existing accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring exceptional service delivery across a portfolio of key customers. This role offers significant client interaction and requires an individual who is commercially astute, relationship-focused, and passionate about delivering results. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage strategic relationships with key customer accounts Drive sales growth, profitability, and revenue generation across allocated clients Conduct regular customer visits and identify opportunities to expand business Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial agreements, and manage customer expectations Monitor market activity, prepare sales forecasts, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure service excellence Candidate Profile: Minimum Matric (Grade 12) Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field advantageous Minimum 5 years' experience in Key Account Management, External Sales, or Business Development Industry experience within timber, plywood, board products, forestry, building materials, manufacturing, or related sectors Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills Experience working with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite SAP experience advantageous Highly driven, customer-focused, and target-oriented Valid driver's licence essential Willing and able to travel extensively Highly Desirable Industry Background: Candidates from the following organisations will be highly regarded: Numill Marketing Foresta Timber Universal Plywood Tradelink Eco Timbers Boss Timbers Essttee Timbers Kayreed Apply Now!
