Key Accounts / New Business Development - Laboratory Equipment - Cape Town

SUMMARY:
A well-established laboratory equipment and consumables company requires the above to manage existing Key Accounts as well as develop new business with clients within the Western Cape.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role: A matric is essential for this role. A science degree or diploma \/certificate is preferred but not essential. Previous experience working within a scientific\/laboratory environment is beneficial. Previous sales experience having sold laboratory or related equipment into the industry is preferred. Must have good negotiation, administration, planning and organising skills. Must have good time management and problem-solving skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Promoting and selling laboratory equipment and consumables to existing Key Accounts as well as developing new business at clients within the Western Cape. Mapping sales territories in terms of high potential\/high value clients Establishing decision-making protocols, processes and role-players within client companies Achieving agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule. Supplying management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services. Formulating client development plans to achieve set sales targets. Attending weekly review meetings - alternating one-on-one and group review. Providing necessary information to feed into key performance indicators. Completing trip sheets accurately and timeously, on a weekly basis. Ensuring that business opportunities are identified across the range of products. Liaising with the marketing manager and product managers for support programmes and materials. Conducting group and individual presentations to decision-making units within client companies. Accurately forecast and track Sales performance at each Key Account, ensuring that each customer has enough stock on hand and all deliveries are made on time to customers. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
