POSITION INFO:
My client, a fast‑growing FMCG distributor in the nicotine and vaping category, is seeking a National Key Account Manager to own and grow trading relationships with South Africa's largest retail groups - SPAR, Pick n Pay, Shoprite, and national forecourt chains . This senior, high‑trust role requires a polished negotiator with proven success at head‑office buyer level, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to deliver revenue growth while protecting margin. 🔹 Key Focus Areas Own and grow national trading relationships with SPAR, Pick n Pay, Shoprite & forecourt groups Negotiate trading terms, rebates, promotional plans & joint business plans Build and maintain quarterly account plans for each national key account Ensure profitability through disciplined trade spend & rebate structures Resolve high‑level account escalations before they threaten relationships Partner with Marketing, Sales Ops & Regional Sales Managers to ensure execution 🔹 Profile Minimum 4-5 years FMCG key account management experience Direct negotiation experience at head‑office\/category buyer level with SPAR, Pick n Pay and\/or Shoprite Proven track record of revenue growth with evidence (numbers & actions) Strong margin literacy and commercial rigour Confident, credible negotiator at senior buyer level Willingness to travel extensively nationwide Valid driver's licence & reliable vehicle Based in, or willing to relocate to, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth or Johannesburg Must be Criminal Clear SA Citizens only Preferred: Existing relationships with major retail groups; experience in nicotine\/vaping\/tobacco or regulated FMCG; entrepreneurial environment exposure. 📩 Applications to:
