Introduction Harmony Gold Mine is looking for a strategic and highly rigorous Lead IT Quality Management Specialist to join our Group Technology division. This role is responsible for driving excellence, accountability, and alignment across Harmony's enterprise IT architecture and service management lifecycles. Operating within a high-stakes mining environment, the successful candidate will define, execute, and govern strict IT quality frameworks, ensuring that technology systems, software applications, and technical infrastructures adhere to world-class security, efficiency, and compliance standards. Minimum Requirements Applicants must fulfil the following criteria to be considered: Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related qualification (NQF 7). Experience: 5 to 8 years of dedicated experience in IT Quality Assurance, IT Governance, or Service Quality Control, preferably within heavy industry or a large corporate environment. Framework Mastery: Deep understanding of international IT and quality management standards (e.g., ISO\/IEC 20000, ISO 9001, COBIT, and ITIL Frameworks). Certifications: Certified Associate in Software Quality (CASQ), Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA), Lean Six Sigma (Green\/Black Belt), or ITIL Practitioner status will be highly advantageous. Core Competencies: Exceptional analytical capabilities, precise troubleshooting skills, sound risk-mitigation judgment, and excellent stakeholder presentation skills. Job Description Summary The Lead IT Quality Management Specialist enforces systemic governance and continuous improvement metrics across the IT environment. Key responsibilities include: Quality Assurance Governance: Designing, establishing, and auditing strict IT quality gates and compliance parameters for software deployments, infrastructure upgrades, and system integrations. Process Standardization: Developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across technical teams to assure adherence to the Mine Health and Safety Act and broader corporate objectives. SLA & Performance Monitoring: Establishing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) via analytical dashboards to benchmark external IT vendors, suppliers, and internal engineering deliverables. Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Leading structured Lean or Six Sigma interventions to investigate recurring technical defects or service delivery bottlenecks, transforming data-driven findings into actionable remedies. Risk Management & Audits: Facilitating internal and external IT quality audits, identifying system risks proactively, and implementing remediation strategies to eliminate operational downtime.
