JOB DESCRIPTION:

Give guidance, support and direction to all business units on how to conduct training needs analysis that is strategically aligned to business strategy, consolidate workplace skills plans for their respective business units and how to monitor the implementation of their respective training plans
Consolidate the company’s WSP/ATR/PIVOTAL report, capture it on the W&RSETA website and submit it together with all the relevant supporting documents annually
Manage and monitor the implementation of the WSP/ATR/PIVOTAL
Promote, communicate and monitor the skills matrix in the company by tracking the progress of employee training against the identified mandatory, functional and developmental courses per job
Assess and promote a learning culture in an company
Manage analytic project budgets and budget controls
Manage and monitor the existence of in store, regional and national skills development committees in the company for transparency and consultation on skills development matters
Ensure representative training committees are in place in all stores, capture committee member names on R-Drive and ensure meeting minutes are received and filed.
Plan, schedule, invites relevant stakeholders and chair quarterly regional and bi- annual national skills development committee meetings and file minutes thereof.
Follow up on and ensure issues raised at all skills development committee levels are resolved.
Provide L&D expertise, advice, insight and support to all line managers, mentors and course managers
Co-ordinate L& D induction for new Training Officers/Managers and HR Managers
Maintain the relationships between the company and the different accreditation bodies
Attend meetings and capacitation sessions (e.g. stakeholder forum and Sector Skills Plan meetings) hosted by the different accreditation institutions (W&RSETA, UMALUSI, QCTO etc.) to keep abreast of what is happening in the skills development landscape nationally
Attend other meetings and capacitation sessions addressing skills development e.g. meetings hosted by training providers
