Opportunity Available!! Our well known client in the Forestry sector is looking to employ a Legal & Compliance Manager to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Description:

Legal Compliance:

Drafting compliance risk management plans and implementing compliance programmes and training
Ensuring that the company complies and cooperates with the relevant statutory and legal provisions
Ensure that the company implements procedures to comply with new and impending legislation and codes
Collaborates with other departments e.g., Finance, Payroll and Human Resources to direct, investigate or resolve compliance issues
Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and implement corrective action plans
Liaises with Company legal advisors to obtain legal opinions and interpretations, advice on litigation issues

Legal Advisory:

Updating management on legislative developments potentially affecting the industry or the Group
Reviews contracts before inception and renewal to ensure their legal accuracy and content
Advises manager on commercial law, contracts, and agreements
Assist managers on commercial law, contract, and agreements
Assist manager with drafting legal documents and agreements
Effectively deals with both written and verbal correspondence that has a legal bearing on the Company

Job Requirements:

Matric qualification
LLB Degree
3years + Post Graduate experience
Sound knowledge of legislation
Sound knowledge of legal processes
Legal Drafting
Compliance management an advantage
Computer skills – Microsoft word, PowerPoint
