SUMMARY:
Our client a National Government Department requires a Legal Advisor Legislation and Labour Law for a 12 month contract.

The candidate must hold a relevant undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) as recognised by SAQA coupled with a minimum of 5 years’ experience at Middle/Senior Managerial level.

A broad understanding of the Public Service Management Framework, computer literacy and a valid driver’s license are also essential requirements.

POSITION INFO:
Key Performance Areas:

Support, guide and advise in terms of compliance with employment legislation/labour law/industrial relations management within the Department.
Advise on changes within the legislative environment which might have an impact on Departmental Policies and assist with policy reviews.
Manage the investigations into the prioritised matters of irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure.
Manage the disciplinary processes relating to the prioritised matters which includes the appointment of employer representatives and presiding officers.
Liaise with the Legal Service Department regarding litigation relating to the selected labour matters.
Represent the Department at the CCMA and Labour Court on selected matters should the need arise.
Ensure adherence to Section57 of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA, Chapter 6, Part 3).
