Are you ready to take on a pivotal role that influences the strategic direction of a leading organisation in the banking and financial services industry? Our client, a reputable firm committed to excellence and compliance, is seeking a seasoned Legal Risk & Compliance (LRC) Advisor. This position offers the opportunity to lead legal and regulatory initiatives at a senior level, supporting sustainable growth and operational integrity. What You'll Do: Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to various business units and management. Draft, review, negotiate, and manage customer, merchant, supplier, technology, outsourcing, and strategic partnership agreements. Offer guidance on commercial transactions, new products, services, technologies, and business models. Identify contractual, regulatory, liability, indemnity, data protection, intellectual property, and operational risks. Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle from initiation to renewal and termination. Conduct legal due diligence on partnerships, investments, acquisitions, and strategic projects. Monitor, interpret, and implement legislation, regulatory directives, and industry standards. Develop and maintain compliance frameworks, policies, procedures, and conduct regular reviews. Support compliance activities related to customer due diligence, merchant onboarding, transaction monitoring, and data protection. Identify, assess, and report legal, regulatory, and operational risks, maintaining risk registers and mitigation plans. Prepare legal opinions, advisory memoranda, management reports, and governance documentation. Engage with regulators, auditors, external legal advisers, and industry bodies. Build strong collaborative relationships across various functions including business, product, technology, operations, finance, and commercial. What You'll Need: 5 to 8 years of relevant legal and compliance experience. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in drafting, negotiation, and risk management. Solid knowledge of commercial law and regulatory frameworks. Ability to interpret legislation and translate it into practical controls and policies. Experience in the banking or financial services industry is preferred. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Nice to Have: Skills in R programming language or data analysis (beneficial but not essential).
