As a Life Actuary, you’ll contribute to a wide range of actuarial projects — including IFRS 17, embedded value, capital modelling, product development, and risk management — across multiple insurers and financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of actuarial projects for life insurance and reinsurance clients.
• Conduct valuations, experience analyses, and reserve calculations.
• Contribute to the development and review of actuarial models and reports.
• Assist with IFRS 17 implementation, product pricing, and capital modelling work.
• Collaborate with consultants and clients to deliver accurate, insightful actuarial solutions.

• Education:
  • BCom / BSc in Actuarial Science or a related quantitative Degree.
  • Student or nearly qualified member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA).
• Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of actuarial experience, preferably in consulting or life insurance.
  • Exposure to IFRS 17, valuations, or product development advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a client-facing or project-based environment ideal.
• Skills:
  • Strong technical skills in Excel, and experience with Prophet, R, Python, or SQL beneficial.
  • Analytical thinker with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
