POSITION INFO:
Our client is a top-tier actuarial consultancy partnering with major insurers and financial institutions across Africa. Known for its technical excellence and client-first approach, the firm provides an environment where innovation, teamwork, and career growth are truly valued.

As a Life Actuarial Manager, you’ll take charge of diverse client portfolios — leading teams through complex actuarial assignments across valuation, product development, capital modelling, and risk management. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver technical insight and business impact while mentoring the next generation of actuarial professionals.

This role is tailor-made for an almost or newly qualified FASSA with strong consulting experience who’s ready to combine technical expertise with leadership responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee multiple actuarial projects across life insurance and reinsurance clients.
Manage, mentor, and support actuarial analysts and associates.
Review models, assumptions, and methodologies to ensure technical integrity and compliance.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering practical, data-driven insights.
Contribute to business development and the firm’s strategic growth initiatives.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:
- Nearly or newly qualified actuary (ASSA).
Experience:
- 5–7 years of actuarial experience within life insurance.
- Proven experience within a consulting environment (essential).
- Demonstrated leadership or people management experience.
- Exposure to IFRS 17, embedded value, or capital projects advantageous
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; knowledge of Prophet, R, Python, or SQL beneficial.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Adaptable and proactive mindset suited to a project-based consulting setting
