Overview

A permanent opportunity exists for an experienced Litigation Secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support within a busy litigation practice.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Dictaphone and copy-typing of a wide range of legal documents
Typing, formatting, collating, and amending notices and pleadings
Ensuring all document amendments are accurately incorporated
Preparing and maintaining resource, counsel, and client files
Managing diaries, telephone calls, and messages for legal professionals
General office and personal administrative support
Preparing pre-bills and billing memoranda
Liaising with the accounts department regarding debtors and collections
Managing FICA-related administration and follow-ups
Liaising with clients, counsel, presiding officers, experts, and service providers as instructed

Requirements

7–10 years’ experience as a Litigation / Legal Secretary
Advanced proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Working knowledge of a legal accounting system (e.g. Aderant Expert or similar)
Experience with document management systems (e.g. iManage or similar)
Legal secretarial diploma, paralegal qualification, or similar (advantageous)
Matric certificate (essential)
