JOB SUMMARY:
Our client based in Wadeville is looking for a Logistics Manager. 
The purpose of a Logistics Manager is to provide, through the relevant teams, effective, efficient, and compliant transport-related activities throughout the company's businesses in a manner that meets and exceeds the business’s 
requirements. These services are inclusive of all packed chemicals, bulk products and 
exports and includes air, road, and sea transport services locally (RSA), and internationally
(in- and outbound).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualification/ Experience
  • University / Postgraduate qualification or similar in either Logistics or Supply Chain.
  • General Experience: Deep and wide level of experience providing expert
  • competence (10 years +) in Logistics and 5 years + experience in senior logistics management role
  • Managerial Experience: Experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources over long-time frames
  • (Up to 3 years) Proven track record in Logistics ideally in a chemical environment

Responsibilities
Cost Optimization:
Deliver on-demand forecasting product movement plan in the most cost-effective and lowest risk execution plan.
Set logistics objectives and quality standards for areas of control.
Ensure Transport Costs are within the budgeted parameters.
Optimize and drive continuous improvement culture within the logistics teams.
Operational Risk Management:
Enable safe and conducive work environments in the delivery and execution of the operational plan in the Logistics teams.
Ensure logistics compliance to all relevant company policies, legislation, regulations, and applicable codes of practice.
Through established programs and systems ensure the HSE aspect and impacts on logistics are measured, understood, and continuously improved.
Identify, manage and mitigate all transport-related risks to the organization locally and internationally.
Customer and Stakeholder Management:
Support and deliver on the business On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) targets by performance monitoring, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing the business strategy.
Set and embed customer-focused service standards to optimally service customers
according to parameters defined by the business from time to time.
Investigate and resolve customer queries related to logistics services.
The employee shall be required to perform any other tasks/ services from time to time
as reasonable required by the business.
Support all internal Stakeholders in delivering and improving the operational efficiency in the execution of logistics services.

Clearly defined delivery and performance objectives will be established
Availability of fit-for-purpose finances, technologies, systems, tools, and means of delivery to meet the strategic objectives of the business.
