SUMMARY:
An established food processing company requires the above to manage the logistics function of the company by applying the principles of planning, organising, leading and controlling activities and people through the implementation of relevant best practices that are aimed at achieving the company's logistical objectives.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Qualification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or related is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience in a Logistics Manager or related role is essential.
  • Previous experience within the operations of a citrus Packhouse would be advantageous.
  • Previous ISO 9000 experience would be advantageous.
  • The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s licence with their own vehicle.
  • Sound knowledge of Human Resources practices is essential.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills is essential.
  • Must be able to work accurately and within time pressures.
  • Ability to manage a team of people and equipment over two shifts is essential.
  • The successful candidate must have good problem-solving skills and be able to think critically.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Planning and managing logistics and marketing outputs through the understanding of operations and inbound logistics within the company.
  • Maintaining and distributing accurate and relevant management reports, including measuring of service providers.
  • Investigating and addressing under-performances and non-conformances within the department.
  • Developing and maintaining good relationships and communication with internal and external parties to ensure effective contributions from the relevant personnel.
  • Planning and allocating programmes to production lines that support the efficiency of the marketing strategy and operations.
  • Maintaining and developing relevant systems, reports and procedures.
  • Ensuring departmental compliance with as well as contributing to Health and Safety, ISO and company policies.
  • Managing and developing a team over two shifts in an effective manner.
  • Keeping abreast of policies and requirements within the citrus industry.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
