Logistics Manager

The ideal candidate will be a results-driven go-getter with a strong work ethic and a passion for service delivery. The main function of this position is the planning, managing and control of all logistics and degreening activities related to the packaging and export of citrus fruit at a packaging facility.

Further duties include:

• Implementation of various supply chain strategies that support the export function
• Development and management of strategies to improve business performance in terms of efficiency, profitability, management, structure and management systems
• Appointment and management of service providers in the logistics and degreening functions
• Management of the logistics team and the financial results of the logistics department
• Research, development and implementation of best practices for the improvement of the logistics, packaging and operational performance of the company

Requirements:

• A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Engineering, Logistics or Operational Management)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a fast-paced global FMCG environment
• Management experience in a logistics environment
• Experience in the research, selection and implementation of operational improvement software and processes
• Experience in managing a small but diverse staff compliment and external service providers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage a wide scope of operational activities and stakeholders
• Leadership, motivation, innovation and team skills
• Advanced computer literacy and knowledge on supply chain and/or operational processes
• Excellent project management skills and ability to focus on detail
