SUMMARY:
Title: Low-Code Java Developer

Our client, is looking for a Low-Code Java Developer to join their team based in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Java Development, hands-on experience with low-code/ no-code platforms (e.g., Intrexx, m-Power, GeneXus, RESTHeart, or similar) and solid SQL knowledge. This role involves designing and developing scalable solutions that blend low-code agility with enterprise-grade robustness.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

8+ years of experience in software development, with strong expertise in Java (Java SE/EE, Spring/ Spring Boot)
Experience with low-code/ no-code platforms
Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)
Strong understanding of software architecture, integration patterns and APIs
Familiarity with the insurance domain, especially commercial insurance
Cloud development experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Prior experience in insurance technology modernization projects
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and testing frameworks

POSITION INFO:
Duties & Responsibilities:

Design, develop and enhance applications using Java, and related frameworks
Configure and extend low-code/ no-code platforms to meet complex requirements
Develop and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, and database designs
Integrate applications with APIs, services, and third-party systems
Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate insurance requirements into technical solutions
Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security standards
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers and team members
Contribute to continuous improvement by adopting bet practices and exploring new low-code tools
