JOB SUMMARY:
CLIENT in the MINING INDUSTRY requires the services of a MANAGER COMPLIANCE (LEGAL) at their plant in the WEST RAND as soon as possible

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Required Qualification:

Have a NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) within relevant business or legal field
Have at least 7 years’ experience in a related role, of which 3 years should have been at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area, with Compliance management experience as an added advantage
Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mining sector or related sector.
Have clear security screening record.
Medically fit to work in the specific business area.

Advantageous Qualifications:

NQF 8 (Post graduate Diploma / Honours Degree / Professional Qualification Degree) ) within relevant business or legal field
Professional certification CCEP or relevant professional certification
MBA

Key Responsibilities:

Develops and maintains the Compliance Strategy for the region. Ensures alignment with the Group compliance strategy.
Manage the Compliance Dept to facilitate achievement of the Regional Compliance Strategy.
Responsible for the drafting and implementation of Compliance governance documents which are appropriately communicated to and implemented by the South African Region.
Overseeing the identification and communication of legislative changes; advising on the extent to which the legislative changes impact upon SA business units; advising changes required to achieve compliance and assisting with the implementation as required.
Responsible for the implementation and use of appropriate automated systems to (i) improve efficiencies within the Compliance Dept; (ii) raise awareness around Compliance within the South African region; and (iii) train employees on the various elements of Compliance.
Responsible for the efficient and effective reporting of Compliance breaches and areas of non-compliance; the co-ordination of investigations into alleged breaches; and overseeing that appropriate action is taken where necessary.
Empowering business units within the South African Region to assess the extent of their compliance with those aspects of the South African Compliance framework applicable to them.
Reporting to the Compliance Steercom and providing high quality reports to the various governance structures within the organization.
Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and crossfunctionally.
Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders.
Sourcing, contracting and negotiating with service providers.
Liaising with the necessary entities on any environmental management related requirements and alignment where applicable.
Collaborating with external service providers regarding the design and implementation of tools to enhance process
