Our client is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their team in Somerset West, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, strong computer literacy, and a relevant tertiary qualification such as BCom Accounting, BAcc, BBA, or MBA. Experience within a warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment will be advantageous, while professional affiliation with recognized accounting bodies such as CIMA, SAIPA, or SAICA will be considered beneficial. DUTIES: Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial leadership, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modelling. Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial information. Manage cash flow, treasury operations, banking relationships, and capital management strategies. Ensure adherence to all tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements. Provide financial insights, performance analysis, and strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors. Administration & Operational Leadership: Provide oversight of key support functions, including HR, IT, legal, compliance, and facilities management. Develop and implement efficient operational processes, systems, and internal controls to support business growth. Collaborate with department leaders to ensure resources are aligned with organisational objectives. Drive initiatives focused on operational excellence, cost optimization, and effective supplier management. Risk Management & Governance: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance-related risks. Strengthen governance frameworks, internal controls, and risk management policies. Manage relationships with external auditors, legal advisors, and regulatory stakeholders. Establish and maintain business continuity and risk mitigation strategies. Strategic Partnership: Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on business strategy and operational matters. Deliver data-driven insights, financial analysis, and scenario planning to support informed decision-making. Represent the organization in engagements with banks, investors, auditors, and government stakeholders. General Management & Departmental Oversight: Provide leadership and strategic direction to key departments, including Finance, HR, and Inventory Management. Establish departmental goals, KPIs, and performance objectives aligned with the company's strategic priorities. Lead performance management processes, providing coaching, guidance, and development support to department heads. Ensure departments are appropriately structured, resourced, and equipped to achieve operational objectives. Provide regular reporting to the CEO on departmental performance, risks, and resource requirements.
