JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position: Management Accountant

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Purpose

The main purpose of this position is to ensure agile management reporting at both an operational as well as consolidated institutional level, and to provide support in relation to the annual budget process. This includes:

Being the overall lead on all aspects of management reporting developments and the generation of these for Council-Controlled and Non-Continuing activities, ensuring the timeous delivery to all key stakeholders.
Ensuring people performance and business processes, policies and tools remain appropriate to support decision-making.
Actively participating in various boards, forums and committees as appointed/nominated by the Vice-Chancellor and/or Executive Director: Finance.

KPAs

Annual budget process - assist in the planning, co-ordination and delivery of the annual budget for Council-Controlled activities, with particular emphasis on consolidating operating budgets (initial and subsequent iterations), including analysis and related narratives
Consolidated Reporting on Council-Controlled and Non-Continuing activities, including Capex - receipt and oversight of monthly and quarterly unit submissions and consolidation for quarterly reporting to the Executive and Governance structures (UFC and Council), including analysis and related narratives
Governance (Risk management, Systems development and Processes) - oversight responsibility for all unit KPI report submissions and engagement with FMs to ensure follow-through on risk mitigation processes
(Internal and external) Strategic Partnering, Stakeholder Relations and Committee/Board/Forum deployments (Internal and external)

Requirements

Qualified CA (SA)
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Management Accounting
