1. Purpose & Role

Manage and develop the data analytics function within the Risk Advisory Services division to enable audit engagement managers and clients to navigate the complex world of data science and analytics. The incumbent will work closely with the entire RAS team to:

• Working with the internal audit and advisory teams to identify risks and design analytics to address these and integrate analytics and modelling offerings more deeply into the internal audit approach;
• Management of data analytics and related projects/engagements;
• Management of client and audit relationships;
• Oversight and support to junior team members;
• Management and execution of complex engagements;
• Provide technical expertise and advice on data-related issues and requirements;
• Drive the data analytics function to meet RAS’ optimisation objectives;
• Take accountability for deliverables and feedback to managers and stakeholders;
• Developing and contributing to analytics and modelling business development and go-to-market opportunities and activities.

2. Qualifying attributes

2.1 Required

• Degree in Commerce, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Information Management or Statistics or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
• Strong understanding of IT environments, IT security, networking and server architecture
• Strong knowledge of and experience with data analytics software (ACL, Idea or similar).

2.2 Preferred

• Qualifications Certifications or Advanced degrees in Computer Science, Data Analytics, and technology specific certifications
• 4+ years’ experience in providing analytics services in an audit environment
