Manufacturing Finance Business Partner — Springs or Boksburg

POSITION INFO:

Our client, an established accounting firm, is looking to appoint a dynamic Manufacturing Finance Business Partner. You will be reporting to the Supply Chain Finance Manager. 

Location: Position will be based either in Springs or Boksburg (at one of their manufacturing industry clients). After the on-site engagement, you will be based at the accounting firm’s office in Edenvale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly reporting to Supply Chain leadership teams, the Manufacturing Director, and the Regional Supply Chain team. Prepare and execute period-end tasks to a high standard within tight deadlines, delivering accurate reports on time.

• Translate Supply Chain strategies into financial plans and monthly financial forecasts.

• Drive annual factory operational planning with unit managers to enhance understanding of costs and cost control. Empower managers to manage their own costs and develop SOPs to assist in effective cost control.

• Lead cost deep dives with unit managers. Provide guidance and support to production cost owners to help achieve budget targets.

• Monitor monthly depreciation for capital expenditure (Capex).

• Drive business waste initiatives/action plans with manufacturing.
• Driving current savings tracking with Supply Chain partners, gap closing plan vs actual, and formulation of new projects to create sustainable continues improvement in the business.

• Perform benchmarking between internal departments to adopt and implement best practices.

• Engage closely with Operations Managers to understand business needs, manage costs, and proactively drive improved business insights and decision-making through robust financial analysis and reporting.

• Build effective business relationships and establish credibility as a trusted business expert. Provide financial insights that drive business performance, with an entrepreneurial mindset.

• Oversee and review all processes related to business planning, forecasting, and reporting.

• Support Procurement tender processes to secure the best cost and service possible while reducing costs without compromising safety or quality.

• Be vigilant and meticulous in planning, monitoring, and reporting on headcount, waste, energy, and maintenance performance. Implement controls across departments to ensure compliance with industry best practices.

• Deliver ad hoc projects and analyses as required.

• Ensure all internal and statutory audit requirements are met. Ensure manufacturing operations comply with client and local standards.

• Support distribution supply chain work when required to help achieve full cost of goods sold (COGS) objectives.

Additional Requirements:

• Accounting & Financial Expertise: Must have solid experience in all aspects of accounting, including preparation of Annual Financial Statements (AFS).
• Software: Proficient in CaseWare.
• Education: Relevant Accounting / Finance degree
• Industry: Experience working within a manufacturing environment will be highly advantageous.
• Other: Strong communication and relationship-building skills; proactive, analytical, and results-oriented mindset.
