Marketing and Communications Specialist

SUMMARY:
Gijima Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a client for a Marketing and Communications Specialist role based in Cape Town (Northern Suburbs), with a hybrid working arrangement.

POSITION INFO:
This role supports the implementation of the ASEZ marketing and communications strategy, aligned to the broader Business Development Strategy, with a focus on attracting Greentech investors and strengthening the integrated ecosystem of Atlantis and surrounding areas in line with the company mandate.

The successful candidate will bring a strong blend of commercial insight, marketing capability, and stakeholder engagement experience within dynamic and multi-sector environments.

About the role:
The Marketing and Communications Specialist will lead the execution of integrated marketing and communications initiatives ensuring alignment with business development objectives and investor attraction strategies. The role will also strengthen brand positioning, stakeholder engagement, and ecosystem development across diverse audiences.

Minimum requirements:

• Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ general marketing experience, ideally across both public and private sector environments
• Strong background in marketing and communications implementation
• Corporate marketing and communications experience essential

• Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
• Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at multiple levels
• Solid marketing and communications experience
• Exposure to the Greentech or related sustainability-driven sectors advantageous
• Understanding of the Western Cape and broader South African economic landscape
• Strong planning, execution, and operational delivery capability
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong digital, systems, and technology proficiency

• Develop and execute targeted marketing campaigns across multiple platforms and stakeholder groups
• Manage digital platforms, social media, and marketing collateral
• Ensure brand consistency and governance across all communications
• Lead internal and external communications strategies
• Oversee event coordination and execution
• Build and maintain key industry and stakeholder relationships
• Support compliance, risk management, reporting, and administrative functions

• Hybrid working model based in Cape Town (Northern Suburbs)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport (travel within Cape Town required)
• 3-year fixed term contract with performance-based delivery expectations and a 3-month probation period
