Marketing and Strategy Manager

POSITION INFO:

Overall Mission/Purpose

The Marketing & Strategy Manager is tasked with bringing together crucial pieces of information such as competitor performance, operational performance, innovations, markets, etc., from various internal and external sources in order to develop strategic options. This information will also serve as input for the regular strategy reviews by senior strategy management and business leaders.

Knowledge, Skills & experience:

Professional competencies 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management Finance, Economics, or any other related business field.  An equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable for the position.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in a corporate strategy position within a fast-paced and dynamic business environment, preferably as support personnel for senior Management.
  • The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in the use of Ms Word, Ms Excel, and PowerPoint, which will be necessary for the creation of both visually and verbally engaging analyses reports and presentations.
  • Exceptionally good analytical skills, an ability to translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives. Candidate needs to demonstrate ability to perform standard analyses such as performance analyses, competitive analyses, market analyses, etc.
  • Business development skills/experience
  • Project management

Key Accountabilities:

Strategy and Marketing Plan  

  • Managing the collaborative effort of setting strategy with the business heads 
  • Conducts opportunity and feasibility studies (modeling, project evaluation, report and presentations) to identify business opportunities that align with LSA operations
  • Recommends the most effective route-to-market for each of the business head and positions the Lafarge brands for maximum exposure
  • Assists in the development of the business in line with the Company’s strategy, including developing new markets, strategic business alliances, investment decisions and strategic projects
  • Assists business leaders in building SMART strategic objectives and cascading the objectives to the shop floor supported by robust marketing plans
  • Guides discussions and contributes insight derived from analysis of the industry and competitors. These insights include decisions about entering new markets, developing products, mergers, divestments or stopping production of existing products.
  • Evaluate industry trends, client needs, expansion opportunities, competitive threats and internal performance.
  • Develop integrated tactical plans to meet and exceed the business goals and objectives

Strategy Implementation and tracking

  •  Co-ordinates and supports the delivery of the strategic agenda targets
  • Responsible for reporting back on progress developing a set of KPI’s to support the business through the strategy;
  • In cooperation with sales teams, defines the target customer base, BU pricing architecture, Develop the loyalty of profitable customers
  • Identifies profitable market segments and Provides strategic advice to the heads of business units.
  • Maintains and develops key strategic partners network
  • Lead the creation of consumer insight driven innovation projects and solutions that drive profitable top-line growth and the achievement of the BU’s dream
  • Assists in the preparation and review of the company Mid-term plan (MTP)
