Markets Operations Specialist

SUMMARY:
The purpose of the role is to perform fund administration responsibilities noted above for all clients, add value to the team by sharing technical expertise in fund accounting, collaborate as one unit within Investment Operations and provide best of breed service to all clients, internal and external.

POSITION INFO:

Technical Knowledge and skills required:

• In depth understanding of asset manageent industry, Asset Classes, Instruments and Markets
• NAV Calculations
• Advanced systems: NX Manager, InvestOne, SPECTRA, Calypso, Bloombert (AIMS & PORT)
• Financial Services Departments and business problems experience
• Full trade lifecycle processes (execution capture, settlement)
• Trading methodologies
• Fund Accounting
• Fund Management
• Cash and Collateral Management

CFA and FRM Professional Registrations will be a great advantage.

This is a mid-level role that is tasked with:

• Setting up new funds
• Executing broker and counterparty set-up
• Full trade lifecycle support - ensuring correct trade bookings, confirmations and settlements.  Resolutions of unmatched trades
• Setting up new CIS investment accounts with Manco''s - agreements and rebates
• Trustee, Mance and Administrator co-ordination
• Monitoring and controlling of fund NAVs
• Reviwing and assisting in resolution of unreconciled Cash and Scrip recons
• understanding of TER''s
• Timeous resolution of internal and external queries
• Ensuring that ad hoc admin processes are completed timeously
• Compiance with company policy and procedures, Client Service Level Agreements and Internal Controls
• Ensuring that all process docuemnttation is kept up to date
• Managing all stakeholder relationships
• Monitoring and overseeing all Service Level Agreements
• Ensuring Corporate Actions and Elections are correctly processed
• Monitoring Distributions
• Reviewing of daily unit flows (regulated funds)
• Liaising with fund mangers when required
• Investigating position reconciliations when they occur (equity, bond, futures and collateral)
• Requesting regulatory reportingn as required (ASISA, FSB, SARB)
