Mechanical Design Engineer (Nambia)

A leading multidisciplinary consulting engineering practice in Namibia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its growing technical team.

The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of mechanical engineering solutions across a range of multidisciplinary projects, working from concept and feasibility through to detailed design, construction support and commissioning.

The role offers exposure to diverse projects across sectors such as mining, energy, industrial, infrastructure, buildings, water and utilities, depending on project requirements.

POSITION INFO:
A leading multidisciplinary consulting engineering practice in Namibia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its growing technical team. The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of mechanical engineering solutions across a range of multidisciplinary projects, working from concept and feasibility through to detailed design, construction support and commissioning. The role offers exposure to diverse projects across sectors such as mining, energy, industrial, infrastructure, buildings, water and utilities , depending on project requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop mechanical engineering designs, specifications, calculations and technical documentation. Prepare and review mechanical engineering drawings and layouts. Perform engineering calculations and equipment sizing. Develop technical specifications, schedules, tender documentation and reports. Participate in feasibility studies, concept development and detailed design. Coordinate mechanical designs with civil, structural, electrical and other engineering disciplines. Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders. Review technical submissions, equipment selections and supplier documentation. Provide engineering support during construction, installation and commissioning. Conduct site inspections and provide technical recommendations. Assist with project planning, cost estimates and procurement activities. Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, specifications and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the delivery of projects within agreed technical, commercial and programme requirements. Minimum Requirements BEng \/ BSc \/ BTech in Mechanical Engineering . Professional registration with the Engineering Council of Namibia (ECN) , or eligibility for professional registration, will be advantageous. 3-5 years' experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within a consulting engineering environment. Experience with multidisciplinary engineering projects. Strong understanding of engineering design principles and relevant standards. Proficiency in relevant engineering design software. Experience preparing engineering calculations, reports and technical documentation. Strong communication and coordination skills. A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
