Basic Salary: R40,000 per month + Lucrative Commission (10% of total dealership net profit)

A well-established, large Multi-Franchise Dealership group is looking for an experienced, energetic, and highly disciplined Used Vehicle Sales Manager to lead their busy pre-owned department in the high-volume Menlyn, Pretoria East hub. This is an elite opportunity for a self-driven executive who knows how to implement robust operational processes, build top-tier teams, and drive an established branch to peak high-performance levels.
Strategic & Operational Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Formulate and execute aggressive strategic plans to exceed volume, profit, and market share targets. Implement modern business methods to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced used vehicle market.

Financial Performance: Manage the overall financial health of the used vehicle department. Oversee budget preparation, strict expense control, cash flow, asset optimization, and stock turn levels to guarantee an exceptional return on investment. Analyze financial statements and KPIs to swiftly execute corrective actions.

Operational Oversight: Optimize efficiency across all department business units—including pre-owned vehicle sourcing, reconditioning management, online/digital showroom marketing, and administration. Report directly to senior management and the board of directors.

People Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of sales executives and administrative staff. Drive recruitment, retention, performance reviews, and active training to maintain an inclusive, high-performing culture.

OEM & Stakeholder Relations: Maintain robust, professional relationships with represented Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) regarding certified pre-owned programs. Ensure 100% compliance with all manufacturer and group franchise standards.

Customer Excellence & Market Growth: Cultivate a customer-centric environment to maximize client retention. Monitor competitor intelligence and execute targeted marketing campaigns to deepen regional market penetration.
Essential Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Used Vehicle Sales Manager / GM or DP specifically within a high-volume franchised dealership context.

Proven Benchmarks: Verifiable experience managing an operational scale of an average 30 sales units per month or higher.

Regional Preference: Candidates currently residing in or with deep market knowledge of Pretoria / Tshwane are highly preferred.

License: A valid and unendorsed South African driver's license.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

Industry Track Record: 5+ years of senior management experience in the automotive retail sector with strong financial acumen and an intimate understanding of dealership used car stock aging and Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.

Education: A relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma or Degree in a Business or Commercial field) is highly preferred.

Systems & Attributes: High proficiency in dealership business management software (e.g., Automate, Pinnacle, Seriti, lead management systems). You must be assertive, persuasive, results-driven, and possess exceptional problem-solving abilities under pressure.
