Merchandising Trade Specialist - Contract position

REQUIREMENTS
Matric plus relevant qualification
Buying & Planning experience
Efficient and experienced in SAP/ALS
Excellent Excel skills (to advanced Level), Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail & ability to interpret and manage large sets of data
good judgment & decision-making skills and ability to work under pressure
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, create a positive environment
Effective ability to present to moderate size groups

DUTIES
Responsible for pre & in-season product management across all merchandise categories ensuring stock is allocated efficiently & effectively in line with DTC merchandise strategy
Continuous analysis of merchandise trends to ensure Order Book is managed to drive operations efficiencies and commercial opportunities
Execute seasonal range planning process and schedule and confirm seasonal buy plans in line with DTC merchandise strategy
Work with the Digital Operations Specialist to ensure all product orders are captured and uploaded in line with cut off dates
Work closely with Digital Operations Specialist to execute pre-season planning (identify allocation opportunities / risks in OB) to ensure categories are managed and commercial opportunities maximized before season start
Take direction from DTC Merchandise Team Manager & Brand Director to ensure in-season product strategy is executed and maintained
Work closely with DTC Merchandise Buying Specialist and Digital Operations Specialist to define framework to identify top sellers, black hole (and other) product segments
Evaluate adjustments to plans and allocations for performance trends & inventory levels and ensure corrective action is taken on slow sellers and opportunities seized with top sellers & replenishment.
Execute in-season commercial trade opportunities in line with commercial needs / stock opportunities
Work closely with DTC Digital Operations Specialist on preparation of mark-downs/pricing as required and in line with DTC, market and/or DTC strategy
Execute framework to identify markdown and stock volume impact
Manage seasonal OTB planning & optimisation in line with DTC strategy & planning processes
Ensure clear product intro phasing strategy in line with overarching DTC merchandising strategy
Work with DTC HUB on OTB planning & work with DTC Buying and Digital Operations Specialists on OB alignment
Communicate progress reports weekly/monthly with senior management
Recommend and participate in all decisions that may impact on the merchandising functions regarding stores daily processes.
