National Cable Sales Manager

SUMMARY:
Leading Cable wholesaler is seeking a Cable Sales Head to lead and develop the overall portfolio and develop and guide the sales team.

Our client, amongst traditional sales management responsibilities of exceptional customer service, sales delivery and sales team development, is looking for an experienced and astute trader, with knowledge of international sourcing, commodity pricing, foreign exchange exposure, freight logistics, supplier negotiations and industrial customer portfolios.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities: Sales Leadership Lead, coach and develop Cable Area Sales Managers and the wider sales team to achieve targets. Create a motivated, professional, and customer-focused team environment Lead by example through integrity, accountability, and professionalism. Review pricing strategies to support profitability. Customer Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers. Resolve commercial, technical, and service-related concerns promptly. Ensure exceptional customer service throughout the sales process. Coordinate customer events, product presentations, and engagement opportunities. Sales & Business Development Drive sales growth while maintaining healthy profit margins. Identify opportunities for specialised and higher-margin cable products. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to maximise opportunities. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and customer requirements Operational Management Ensure accurate and timely processing of quotations, orders, and deliveries. Work with procurement and distribution teams to maintain stock availability. Monitor stock levels and forecast future requirements. Improve SC processes to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction. Financial & Commercial Responsibilities Manage customer credit matters, account queries, and outstanding payments with Finance. Ensure pricing and discounts align with company guidelines. Monitor sales performance, gross profit, and margin targets. Team Culture Promote teamwork, accountability, communication, and a positive working environment. Recognise achievements and support team development. Encourage continuous improvement and alignment with company values. Key Requirements: Matric and relevant tertiary qualification Min. 10 years' experience in national sales role, which includes exposure to negotiation in an international sourcing, commodity pricing and foreign exchange product category.
