SUMMARY:
Role: NetOps Engineer
Location: llovo, Sandton l Hybrid - 1 day working from home Permanent role
 
Our client is a leading enterprise connectivity provider (ISP/MSP) in a hands-on, highly technical role within their Network Operations team. You will work on and support core network infrastructure, drive high-availability performance, and influence network architecture and operational strategies.  You’ll work on complex, carrier-grade networks, troubleshoot advanced multi-technology environments, and mentor junior engineers. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge networking technologies, regulatory compliance (ICASA, POPIA), and professional growth opportunities in a collaborative environment. Fabulous offices and work from home one day per week.

• Deliver advanced technical support across routers, switches, firewalls, APN services, and wireless access points.
• Network troubleshooting, voice patching, and change management in line with ITIL and best practice frameworks.

• Maintain and enhance technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Act as a senior escalation point, providing mentorship and leadership within the team.

• 5 years relevant experience, with experience working for an ISP
• Advanced knowledge of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, STP).
• Strong background in network security (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, threat mitigation).
• Must have hands-on experience with all of these: Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet technologies.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex environments (IP, voice, cloud, SD-WAN, hybrid systems).
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills..
• Bonus: Experience with APN, RADIUS, and automation scripting.

• National Certificate: Information Technology or similar
• NSE4 – Fortinet
• JNCIS-SP – Juniper or equivalent
