POSITION INFO:

We are seeking a committed and adaptable Onsite Desktop Engineer to provide day-to-day IT support at a client facility in Estcourt, operating within a meat processing and pig slaughtering facility.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working in this type of environment and provide end-user support, hardware and software troubleshooting, and general desktop maintenance. You will play a key role in ensuring minimal IT downtime on the production floor, supporting both office-based and operational staff.

What you’ll do:

• IT infrastructure support for the butchers, mainly windows desktops.
  Other systems used at factories support (Training will be provided).
• Basic Desktop support.
• User troubleshooting.
• End user interaction and assistance.

Your expertise:

• Experience in IT Experience in Desktop and End-user Support
• Windows desktop support
• Service desk Ticket logging
• Some basic IT training

Qualifications required:

• Matric
• ITIL
• MCDST
• Hardware Certifications is advantageous
• Customer support soft skills

Other information applicable to the opportunity:

• Permanent Position
• Location: Estcourt
• Work environment: This is a pig slaughtering factory, there is noise, smells, blood, meat processing via machinery as well as manure. You need to be able to work in this environment, some stations are hot and some very cold.
• Physical demands: Normal Desktop engineer work WITHIN a slaughter factory where pigs are slaughtered.
• Travel: Yes when on standby traveling to the site (any hours day or night)
