Operational Financial Manager

POSITION INFO:
This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys leading financial operations, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will act as the operational head of finance and serve as a trusted right-hand to senior leadership. This is a purely operational finance role with no strategic commercial responsibilities, allowing you to focus on building and maintaining a high-performing finance department. This role is based in Midrand. Key Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Oversee the month-end and year-end financial close process. Prepare accurate monthly management accounts. Ensure compliance with all tax legislation and statutory requirements. Manage the external audit process and liaise with auditors. Oversee debtors, creditors, and cash management functions. Ensure the integrity of financial records, controls, and reporting. Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure high performance and accountability. Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls. Support the business by maintaining a stable, efficient, and compliant finance function. Job Experience and Skills Required: Degree in Accounting. Strong financial accounting fundamentals. Proven experience in an operational Financial Manager or Senior Accountant role. Extensive experience preparing management accounts. Strong knowledge of tax compliance, statutory reporting, and external audits. Solid understanding of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and financial controls. Previous experience managing or supervising a finance team. Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
