SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly capable Operational Manager: Finance to join a well-established manufacturing company.

POSITION INFO:
This role is suited to a hands-on finance professional who is equally comfortable managing financial controls and being actively involved in day-to-day operations on the factory floor.

Key Responsibilities – Finance

Full financial management function including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Monthly management accounts and financial reporting
Costing, margin analysis, and manufacturing cost control
Oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
Ensure compliance with South African tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements
Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance
Support audits and liaise with external auditors and advisors

Key Responsibilities – Operations

Partner with production and operations teams to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost optimisation
Monitor and analyse production costs, variances, and operational KPIs
Support inventory management, stock control, and WIP reporting
Assist with process improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
Provide financial insight to support operational decision-making
Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and controls

Requirements

Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (BCom or equivalent)
Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in a finance role within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and costing
Proven experience in an operational, hands-on finance role
Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
