Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
A leading organisation within the industrial electrical and automation sector is seeking a high-performing Operations Manager to take ownership of its Cape Town operations.

This is a critical role for a hands-on operator who can bridge strategy and execution, ensuring the business runs efficiently while driving performance, profitability, and team alignment.

POSITION INFO:
You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, leading a team of approximately 15–20 staff, and ensuring that all business functions operate at peak efficiency.
This role requires a strong leader with a “fixer” mindset — someone who can identify inefficiencies, implement solutions, and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimise warehouse and branch operations
• Lead and develop a high-performing operational team
• Drive operational efficiency, cost control, and productivity improvements
• Support financial planning, budgeting, and margin management
• Manage supply chain and logistics coordination within the Western Cape
• Ensure compliance with OHS, labour laws, and company policies
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable processes and SOPs
• Act as the link between strategic direction and on-the-ground execution

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in an Operations Management role
• Experience within industrial, electrical, automation, logistics, or manufacturing environments (advantageous)
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field
• Proven ability to manage teams and drive performance
• Strong understanding of logistics networks and operational workflows

Technical Capability

• Strong proficiency in ERP systems
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills
• Experience with CRM and project management tools
