Our client in the engineering industry is urgently looking for an experienced Operations Manager(zinc plant) to join their team.

Location: Benoni South, Gauteng

Job Description: Responsible for directing and managing the Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality functions with particular emphasis on technical innovation and implementing new technology in production and engineering.  

Requirements: if you do not meet the requirements your application will not be considered

• Matric / Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and Physical Sciences
• 5 to 10 years’ Production experience, including 5 years of Management experience running a Foundry or Chemical Manufacturing, base metal, or precious metal plant.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Extensive knowledge and experience of both extractive hydro and pyrometallurgy
• Extensive knowledge of ISO, SHE, and Total Quality Management and must have been responsible for the Quality function
• Sound knowledge of general machinery and process flow

• Ability to determine or/and evaluate manufacturing capacity and constraints.
• Ability to identify and control manufacturing costs such as, but not limited to waste, labour costs.
• Project Management planning and control.
• Good management and leadership skills.
• Ability to lead diverse teams to ensure delivery and efficiency.
• Ability to lead by example.
• Ability to follow up and ensure delivery of results.
• Integrity
• Must be self-driven.
• Ability to follow up and ensure delivery of results.
• Deep technical knowledge of the discipline.
• Business and financial management knowledge
