Our client in the engineering industry is urgently looking for an experienced Operations Manager(zinc plant) to join their team.

Location: Benoni South, Gauteng

Job Description: Responsible for directing and managing the Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality functions with particular emphasis on technical innovation and implementing new technology in production and engineering.

Requirements: if you do not meet the requirements your application will not be considered

Matric / Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and Physical Sciences
5 to 10 years’ Production experience, including 5 years of Management experience running a Foundry or Chemical Manufacturing, base metal, or precious metal plant.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Extensive knowledge and experience of both extractive hydro and pyrometallurgy
Extensive knowledge of ISO, SHE, and Total Quality Management and must have been responsible for the Quality function
Sound knowledge of general machinery and process flow

Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to determine or/and evaluate manufacturing capacity and constraints.
Ability to identify and control manufacturing costs such as, but not limited to waste, labour costs.
Project Management planning and control.
Good management and leadership skills.
Ability to lead diverse teams to ensure delivery and efficiency.
Ability to lead by example.
Ability to follow up and ensure delivery of results.
Integrity
Must be self-driven.
Ability to follow up and ensure delivery of results.
Deep technical knowledge of the discipline.
Business and financial management knowledge
