Operations Project Manager (FMCG) – Krugersdorp

SUMMARY:
Manage all Operations and in-house projects.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum BTech Engineering required.
FSSC2200 & OHSA experience required
Astute business acumen


Duties:

• Maintain clear communication line with executive management
• Overall accountability for Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, Logistics, IT & Laboratory.
• Provide assistance for procurement and operational costing where necessary.
• Incorporate a good balance between delegating and hands on management
• Manage setup and implementation of Operational SOP’s
• Project management - Implementation, and management of projects involving both internal and external parties. Make use of software solutions that provides history, status and technical information on each project.
• Business Planning:
• Contribute to the development of annual and longer-term business plans
• Forecast performance against business key performance indicators;
• Develop business cases for key activities/projects;
• Estimate the financial and human resources required to deliver performance targets.
• Develop business processes and technology management
• Budgeting and Costing: Develop and/or deliver capital project budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues for plant upgrades and modifications
• Performance Management:
• Manage and report on performance within the department or area of responsibility;
• Set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving these;
• Take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.

• Operational Compliance: Monitor and review performance and behaviours within area of responsibility to identify and resolve non-compliance with the organization's policies and relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct. Scope includes FSSC2200 & OHSA
• Principal Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the principal relationships within the area of responsibility, identifying and communicating opportunities for system improvement that may enhance the management of principal relationships.
• Organizational Capability Building: Identify the team's individual development needs.

• Continuous improvement initiatives on productivity, costs and reducing waste.
• Maintain strict discipline and objectively follow disciplinary procedures.

• Provide input into the manufacturing strategy
• Manage the production & processing facilities and processes
• Manage raw and packaging materials and products
• Monitor Capacity Utilisation, make recommendations and implement improvements
• Monitor inefficiencies, make recommendations and implement improvements
• Monitor Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), make recommendations and implement improvements
• Monitor and keep up to date with changes in legislation and ensure compliance
• Plan resources required and daily priorities of the unit per the production plan
• Achieve production targets as per the Production Plan
• Optimise the plant and achieve prescribed operational efficiencies and identify and eliminate unaccounted losses
• Compose and manage a project team for a technical project to deliver project objectives
• Implement Lean 6 Sigma black belt projects and initiatives
• Drive process optimisation and continuous improvements
