Employer Description Commodity Export Company Job Description Your duties will encompass: Manage and oversee direct reports, ensuring high levels of performance, accountability and employee development. Provide strategic operational support to the business through effective operational governance and leadership. Manage rail operations and rail safety activities to ensure safe and efficient execution of operational requirements. Oversee specialist operational support functions and service providers to ensure operational excellence and compliance. Manage contractor performance and contractual obligations to ensure service delivery standards are achieved. Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, company policies and operational procedures. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity and governance. Monitor and manage operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies. Support the implementation and management of rail reform initiatives and their impact on operational processes. Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with Transnet Freight Rail (TFR), Rail Safety Regulator (RSR), Train Operating Companies (TOCs) and other key stakeholders. Develop and implement operational strategies aligned to business objectives. Prepare and present operational reports, recommendations and performance metrics to senior management. Ensure effective operational planning, coordination and execution across all areas of responsibility. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree (Honours preferred) in Logistics Management, Commercial, Engineering, Law or a related field. Skills Minimum 5 years' experience within an operational plant, logistics, rail or related operational environment. Minimum 5 years' senior management experience. Strong knowledge of rail operations and rail safety principles. Experience in contractor and contract management. Sound understanding of operational governance, compliance and risk management. Experience engaging with operational stakeholders, regulatory bodies and service providers. Knowledge of rail reform and its impact on operational processes. Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint. Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills. Valid Code EB driver's licence.
