PV/WIND/ GAS PROPOSALS AND DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Job Title: Proposals Design Engineer

Reports To: Business Development Manager

Summary:

We are looking for a Proposals Design Engineer who will analyse new project opportunities, assist in securing relevant permits licenses consents and approvals required for projects. The ideal incumbent will have experience in project development in the PV / Wind/ Gas power generation industry.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

ü Coordinate with the Engineering department by conducting feasibility studies to evaluate whether a project is economically sound.

ü Developing cost estimates for projects based on client specifications.

ü Compiling comprehensive Proposals for bids on new projects based on tender specifications :

a) Reviewing existing plans and researching potential challenges that could arise during construction

b) Defining prices, commercial conditions, comments and deviations and technical specifications for presentation to the client,

c) Review and analyse RFP documents and proceed accordantly with the clarification process defined.

ü Collect, review and comment on all bid documents, including technical, economical, contractual, legal, logistic, insurance among others;

ü Identify tasks and activities for completing bid respond and assign responsible people within and outside organization (consultant, partners, contractors) performing an exhaustive follow up to guarantee the delivery date;

ü Prepare and manage proposals and the bid/award process for obtaining these services requested to complete EPC proposals.

ü Provide a project management role during proposal stage to complete the final bid, present it to the customer and coordination of the negotiation process with internal departments to achieve the EPC signature

ü Monitor progress and status of Proposals, maintaining accurate records and supporting Project Team during handover of Proposals that have resulted in orders.

ü Coordinate with the Engineering department to ensure preliminary technical documents to include in the offer: drawings, technical descriptions, yield reports, detailed engineering design drawings and models of proposed projects based on client specifications

ü Reviewing and analysing bids from subcontractors/suppliers to determine if they are competitive or if adjustments need to be made

ü Prepare information to support RFQ documents and request quotes to suppliers and subcontractors.

ü Interface with vendors to understand the form, fit and function of their products and services; and determine which products are best suited for an application or project.

ü Act as a focal point for client queries regarding Proposal submission, in order to reach agreement and build on positive ongoing relationship.

ü Communicating with clients to gather information about their needs and preferences regarding design solutions

ü Organise site visits and meetings with subcontractors or consultants as required

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

1. At least 2 years’ experience in the Power Generation industry.
2. At least 2 years’ experience technical role in a renewable energy project development environment.
3. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferable ( Electrical, Mechanical)
4. Experience in using Autocad, WindPro, Vortex PVsyst and Solargis or similar
5. Previous work in a EPC company, Energy developer is preferred
6. Valid Driver’s Licence
