SUMMARY:
Our client in the Agricultural sector (fruit) is looking for a Packhouse Automation and Operations Specialist to join their team in Citrusdal, Western Cape.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Production or Manufacturing
Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with automation technologies
Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans
Attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset
Proficiency in problem-solving and making responsible decisions
Ability to identify critical trends and patterns for process optimization
Self-driven with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Project management skills to drive initiatives and manage resources effectively
Innovative thinking and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
Sound business acumen to align operational strategies with organizational goals
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintain and optimize automation hardware and software to maximize throughput and quality
- Ensure staff compliance with productivity standards and provide necessary training and guidance
- Improve overall equipment efficiency (OEE) through proactive measures and continuous improvement initiatives
- Optimize the utilization of cooling and de-greening space for efficient operations
- Coordinate and schedule timely maintenance of machines to minimize downtime and disruptions
- Identify and optimize data processes to establish a paperless environment and improve information
  flow
- Facilitate systems integration and drive process improvements to enhance operational
  effectiveness
- Provide real-time problem-solving support to address operational challenges and minimize delays.
- Support operational decision-making by analysing relevant data and leveraging the latest
  technology
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product quality and productivity
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation
  within the packhouse operations
