We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist who lives and breathes payroll operations and has strong hands-on experience with PaySpace. This is not a role where PaySpace exposure is simply “nice to have” - it is absolutely critical.

Duties:

• Managing the full end-to-end payroll process
• Validating payroll inputs and ensuring accurate monthly payroll processing
• Running tax and management reporting through PaySpace
• Preparing and submitting EMP201s as well as bi-annual and annual EMP501 reconciliations
• Supporting payroll audits and ensuring legislative compliance
• Applying a strong understanding of SARS source codes and statutory requirements
• Providing payroll support and guidance to employees and management
• Identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions
• Maintaining payroll records and ensuring strict confidentiality
• Staying updated with payroll legislation and system enhancements

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance or related qualification advantageous

• Minimum 8 years of payroll experience within a South African environment
• Minimum 2+ years’ hands-on experience using PaySpace (non-negotiable)
• Degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance or related qualification advantageous
• Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll functions
• Experience with payroll audits and statutory submissions
• Strong understanding of South African payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency

• Strong PaySpace systems capability and technical understanding
• Sound knowledge of SARS source codes and statutory reporting requirements
• Strong understanding of BCEA, PAYE, UIF, COIDA and SDL legislation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong reconciliation and payroll validation abilities
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under strict deadlines
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
