An exciting opportunity is available at one of our Clients based in Durban for a Personal Lines Underwriting Team Leader.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be responsible for the overseeing of the team’s activities including the following:
Oversee and control underwriting activities
Daily operational underwriting activities
Oversee the effective execution of Underwriting Mandates and handling of escalations
System requests prioritising and driving of outstanding requests
Ad hoc system audits, fixes, age analysis and new products or features testing
Deploy and oversee activities and performance of learners and interns
Oversee portfolio take-on administration
Ensure timeous and accurate loading of the policies involved
Oversee allocation of resources
Ensure that the required quality control processes are in place
Special projects
Allocate the required staff component to deal with Special Projects
Oversee the effective execution of deliverables
Stakeholder relationship management
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders with aim of building and maintaining relationships
Retain and motivate staff
Ensure motivated and retained staff
Actively train and develop staff (guidance, mentoring and formal training)
Effective management of employee relations
General people management administration – e.g. leave, performance and disciplinary processes
